    The estimated population for the year 1912 comes out at 2,605. Birth rate per 1,000 population is 26.4. Death rate per 1,000 population is 11.1. Infantile mortality, calculated on per 1,000 births, is 70 per 1,000 births. TABLE OF DEATHS AT DIFFERENT AGES. It will be seen by the foregoing table that by far the larger proportion of deaths occurred in persons between the ages of 45 and 89, nine of whom were over 70 years of age. The Infantile Mortality compares favourably with the general rate for the country. Climatic conditions and epidemics on the one hand, hygiene and healthy surroundings, together with personal care on the other, have much to do with the rise and fall of the death rate of a community.
