Trachoma WHO grade: trachomatous inflammation - intense (TI)

This is the upper tarsal conjunctiva of a patient with TI. The feature apparent on the bottom left hand corner of the conjunctiva may be a cyst, and is not a trachoma-related sign. There appear to be some follicles but these are too few to merit classification as TF (WHO grade: trachomatous inflammation - follicular), though some may be obscured by the inflammation.
