Printed copy of a circular letter by Galton addressed to "Amateur Photographers"; introducing the subject of composite photography for the purposes of studying family likeness and requesting photographic portraits for his research. Titled "Application of Composite Photographic Portraiture to the Production of Ideal Family Likenesses" and includes a composite photograph on the cover. Many of the letters in GALTON/2/8/1/1 may have been received by Galton in response to this letter.
