Biographical note
Beulah was born in 1929. She graduated from Trinity College, Dublin MA MD in 1951 where she read medicine. She married Thomas Bewley in 1955 and had 1 son and 4 daughters. in 1970, Beulah was the only female student out of 12 on the first MSc Social Medcine course at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She became an elected member of the GMC in 1997. In 1999 she became Dame Beulah Bewley for services to the advancement of women in medicine
