Binding: 15th century stamped pigskin on oak boards with metal clasps and corners. Remains of paper title label on upper board and evidence of chain attachment at upper edge of lower board. Two manuscript leaves used as endleaves containing 8 pages of a closely written 13th(?) century medical manuscript. Text block edges in two colours, now very faded. With marginal manuscript notes. Bookplate of James Elwin Millard, D.D. inside front cover. Signature of William Morris, 1890 on flyleaf. Millard's books were sold at Sotheby's in November 1890.
