Summaries of surgical cases kept by Sturridge at the London Chest Hospital, Brompton Hospital, National Heart Hospital and Middlesex Hospital, 1959-1979, together with records of research at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, 1961-1962, and his University of London MS thesis, "Bronchopleural Fistula following Pneumonectomy for Carcinoma", 1964.

Biographical note

Marvin Francis Sturridge (b. 1926) qualified in medicine from the Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1952. He went on to specialise in cardiothoracic surgery, pioneering new techniques in trans-sternal thymectomy for myasthenia gravis.

During his career Sturridge held the following posts:

February-July 1955 - House Surgeon, Middlesex Hospital (orthopaedic surgery)

January-December 1956 - Casualty Surgical Registrar, Middlesex Hospital

January-December 1957 - Surgical Registrar, St. Andrew's Hospital, Billericay, Essex

January-December 1958 - Surgical Registrar, Middlesex Hospital (general and cardiothoracic surgery)

January-September 1959 - Thoracic Surgical Registrar, London Chest Hospital

October 1959-December 1960 - Senior Surgical Registrar, London Chest Hospital

January-October 1961 - Senior Surgical Registrar, Brompton Hospital

November 1961-October 1962 - Research Assistant, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA

November-December 1962 - Senior Registrar, London Chest Hospital

He retired in 1991.
