About this work

Description

Schatz Kammer der Natur: Grundliche Erklärung dreyer grossen Geheimnussen... Von neuen aus Liecht gebracht durch Jacobum Lupium F.D. Anno MDCLI. With other tracts, transcribed by G.C.H. The references given are to Sudhoff's 'Versuch einer Kritik der Echtheit der Paracelsischen Schriften, 1894-1899. Vol. I. Bibliographia Paracelsica: Vol. II, Paracelsus Handschriften'. (1) Schatz Kammer der Natur. 1651 (pp. 1-135). Sudhoff I, 367. (2) De spiritibus Planetarum sive Metallorum...Basilea. 1679 (pp. 136-161). Sudhoff I, 125. The date of this is 1570, but in Sudhoff II, 20 the date 1569 is mentioned. In our MS. 1679 may be the transcriber's error. No edition or MS. of this work dated 1679 is recorded by Sudhoff. (3) De Mercurii Philosophorum tincturis et Fermentis ipsorum...Basilea. Anno 1579 (pp. 162-177). Sudhoff I, 118, II, 20. Here again the transcriber seems to have written 1579 in place of 1569. (4) De praeparandis tincturis Solis et Lunae... Basilea. Anno 1571 (pp. 178-195). This has not been positively identified, but it may be an extract from Sudhoff I, 134. (5) [Anon.] De lapide Philosophorum (pp. 196-298). (6) -Tractatus de auro (159 pp.). The extracts from Paracelsus seem to be from his 'Archidoxa'.
