Description

Black and white photograph of "Finished Cinchona bales, manufactured by means of hydraulic press". The original photograph was lent by Professor A. Tschirch (of the Pharmaceutical Institute of the University of Berne) for Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930, an exhibition hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The photograph is listed as exhibit no. 464 in the souvenir catalogue. The item is not held by Wellcome Collection.
