Notes

The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Privately printed. A joyous scene on board one of His Majesty's battleships in the 1920s. Some of the crew having a great time (possibly 'Crossing the Line)'. Some of the drag is actually rather good, complete with silk stockings and lots of make-up. No wigs needed for female impersonation in this period, as women of fashion had all been 'shingled' and had less hair than the menfolk."
This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
