Letter from Spencer to Galton regarding the proposed experimental farm. Spencer advises Galton that he believes the scheme will only work if it begins on a small scale, that purchasing the Down estate for that purpose would be inappropriate, and that it would be futile to involve livestock breeders in scientific research.
