Description

The Virgin of Loreto, a painting (1604–1606) by M. Merisi, il Caravaggio, in the Cavalletti family chapel in the church of Sant'Agostino, Rome. The Santa Casa at Loreto in Italy became a site of pilgrimage on the ground that it was the house of the Holy Family in Nazareth which was transported by angels to Italy
