About this work
Description
Two works by Boursier, possibly unpublished, comprising 'Règles de conduite pour deux personnes qui pensent à s'unir par le lien sacré du mariage, par M. Boursier docteur de Sorbonne' (200 pp.), and 'La jounée d'un penitent' (196 pp.). The first of these works, on marriage, includes rules for sexual behaviour, criticism of the involvement of male practitioners in midwifery, and a recommendation that mothers should wetnurse their own children. The 'Règles' were probably written before 1729, when Boursier was expelled from the Sorbonne.
