An information film about the versatility and uses of the 'Gloster' ladder. In a series of demonstrations, uniformed emergency workers mobilise and show the correct application of the ladder across a number of scenarios including rescuing someone from a ship, a train, roofs and a well. The ladder is modular and can be joined to another of its kind making a longer ladder, it's light and can be inserted into narrow spaces, with the attached straps, an injured person can be secured and the ladder manoeuvred sideways.
