Description
Forensic chart of the skeleton from Shangke buyao (Supplement to Traumatology) by Qian Xiuchang, published in 1818 (23rd year of the Jiaqing reign period of the Qing dynasty). The labelled locations are bone measurement landmarks. For particulars, see 'Lettering'.

PICTURE TITLE: Forensic chart of the skeleton (2). OTHER LETTERING: Naohou (back of the head); zuo er gen (root of the left ear); you er gen (root of the right ear); ejiao hou (back of the angle of the forehead); chengzhen (occiput?); fifth section of the neckbone; pipa gu (Lute Bone, the scapula); also known as bigu (thighbone); bigu (thighbone); front of jugen under the right arm; jilü gu qijie (seventh section of the spine); front of jugen under the left arm; jibei gu liujie (sixth section of the backbone); leigu (rib), i.e. 24 chaigu (hairpin bones) altogether on left and right; yaomen gu wujie (the fifth section of the Waist Portal bone); you kuagu (right ilium); fanggu (quadrate bone); weiqu gu (coccyx); front of jubao under the left legbone; front of jubao under the right leg bone; zu waihuai (external malleolus).
