    preceding prize queftions, reported—That it be the duty of the Prefid ent, Vice- Prefident, Secretary, Treafurer and Cenfors to fele<£t from the communications, fix of the bed difiertations on each queftion, which fhall be prefented to the fociety for final adjudication. Thereupon the faid report was approved. The following members in purfuance of the bye-laws reported a topographical and geological defcription of their refpe&ive counties, together with the difeafes preva- lent in the fame, viz. Dr. Alexander Sheldon, Montgomery, Dr. David R. Arnell, Orange, Dr. William Wheeler, Dutchefs, Dr. John Stearns, Saratoga, Dr. Hugh Henderfon, Jef- ferfon, Dr. Horatio Powell, Clinton, and Dr. Lyman Cook of Weftchefter. Dr. Weftell Willoughby communicated a cafe of hydro- phobia and Dr. Mofes Willard a cafe of afcites fuccefsfully treated. The following ordinance was reported to the fociety by Dr. Arnell, Dr. Willoughby and Dr. Plart, as an amendment to the ex- ifting bye-laws. Be it ordained by the Medical Society of the State of New-York, that feven mem- bers of the fociety be competent to form a ¥ JL
