Description
Episode one. The psychologists look at the development of language skills, competition and rule-following. They also discuss how the four-year-olds build relationships, develop empathy, and express aggression. A final experiment involves being given disappointing presents, to explore how well the children are able to regulate their emotions.

Part of a six part series which is organised in three parts; 4, 5 and 6 year olds. It capitalises on the successful programme 'The Secret Life of Four Year Olds' shown earlier in 2015.
This documentary series looks at the social behaviour of children at the age of four. Hidden cameras are planted in a children's nursery to observe the conversations and social interactions between twelve children who have never met each other before. Two specialised teachers, Kate Gadsby and Simon Batchelor, are on site, whilst two developmental psychologists, Dr Sam Wass and Professor Paul Howard-Jones, observe. The parents of each also child discuss what they think of their child's personality.
