About this work

Description

Dorsal (back) view of the spinal cord of a one day old zebrafish embryo. Bilateral columns of 'Rohan Beard' sensory neurons, labelled with an antibody that recognises cell adhesion molecules, are a transient population of nerve cells that mediate touch responses prior to the development of the dorsal root ganglia, collections of nerve cell bodies involved in sensation.
