Northumberland Street Schools, Poplar.-Messrs. Francis, architects. ; B. Sly del. ; W. E. Hodgkin sc.
This large school, for 1,000 pupils, was demolished, with most of the surrounding street and buildings, in 1953, following enemy action in World War II. The adjacent St Saviour's church, built a little later (1868) by the same architects, survived but was damaged by fire in 2007 and converted for residential use ca. 2022
