    Removing Sewage, (This Imention received Provisional Protection only,) PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by John Yule at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition, on the 28th August 1868. I, John Yule, of Glasgow, in the County of Lanark, North Britain, 6 Engineer, do hereby declare the nature of the said Invention for “Improvements in Arrangements and Apparatus for Dealing with Sewage,’* to be as follows, that is to say :— This Invention relates to improved arrangements for dealing with sewage, more particularly in connection with the watercloset system, 10 and comprises simple and economical apparatus for intercepting the sewage at or near dwelling-houses so as to prevent its discharge into the main sewers, and also apparatus for removing it. The main features of the Invention are the employment of compressed air (alone or in combination with exhaustion) for transferring the sewage 15 from closed receptacles into which the dwelling-house soil pipes dis¬ charge thence into closed tank carts, and the furnishing of such tank carts or accessary carts with air pumps driven by horse gear for com¬ pressing or exhausting the air employed.
