Probably a student’s notes of lectures at an Italian university: the date 1715 is found on p. 20, but the reference to Haller on p. 159 points to a considerably later date. Purchased 1909. An abridgement of all the chymical papers contained in the History and Memoirs of the Royal Academy of Sciences [from 1699 to 1707]. 4 11. + 325 pp. + 32 bl. 11. 4to. 20x16 cm. [c. 1710.] Original rough calf binding. Illustrated by a few pen-drawn diagrams, etc. Below the title given above is written ‘N.B. in the Collection are comprised those Papers among the Botanical and Philosophical which related to Pharmacy, Medicine, or Chymistry’. Lettered on the spine ‘Acta chymica Academiae Scientiarum. I.’ Purchased 1910. (26901) 831. ACCARD, Abbé [1734-1797]. Les entretiens fleuristes d’Arcas et de Damon. Calendrier ou Vie des Saints de tous les jours. Almanach perpétuel et prophéties curieuses, etc. 209 pp. + 4 bl. 11.+ 16 pp.+ 2 11. (first bl.). 4to. 19x15^ cm. 1789. Original boards. Possibly a holograph MS. by the Abbé Accard of Neufchâtel: it is in verse throughout, and is dedicated to ‘ Fidèle Joseph Hubart en réligion de l’Abbaye de Beaubec.’ The 16 pp. at the end contain a contemporary [ ?] copy of ‘Lettre pastorale de Monseigneur l’illustrissime et révérendissime Evêque et Comte de Chalons sur Saône au sujet des danses’, dated from Fontainebleau 23 July 1666. The author of this violent attack on country dances is Jean XIV de Maupéou, Bishop of Chalons from 1658 to 1677. Library label of E. M. Pelay of Rouen. From the Berhard II Collection. Purchased 1928.
