About this work
Description
Documentary about the return of tuberculosis to Britain, where patients are in danger of remaining sick and undiagnosed for some time because today's generation of doctors are unfamiliar with its signs and symptoms. Although most virulent among homeless people, the disease attacks every social class. The programme moves to the U.S., to show how New York has dealt with a similar problem by investing massively in TB control, thereby averting a likely epidemic of drug-resistant TB. Britain has no plans for such investment. Doctors and health professionals from some of London's worst affected areas discuss their findings and their fears.
