Description

Black and white photograph of a framed and mounted plant specimen described as "Cinchona officinalis, var. angustifolia. Seeds sent from Madras. Cultivated in Java. (J.E. Howard)" in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930, an exhibition hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The framed herbarium sheet was lent by the Pharmaceutical Institute of the University of Berne and is listed as exhibit no. 196 in the souvenir catalogue.
