Description

John Dounce, a widower, comes across a newly opened oyster-saloon in London and becomes infatuated with the woman who serves behind the counter there, but she rejects his proposal. Also for sale in the shop in Cruikshank's etching are Purt's ginger beer and Webb's soda water
