Description
Three people in the UK with narcolepsy travel to America's Narcolepsy Annual Conference. Samantha was diagnosed with narcolepsy and catalepsy at 17. Ken also has narcolepsy and catalepsy; his wife Christine has been his full-time carer since they married and she is lonely and frustrated. 14-year-old Tony suffers from the same condition and can sleep as long as 18 hours per day. He has to have a full-time classroom assistant to look after him throughout the day. At the conference they meet many other people with narcolepsy and try various alternative methods of coping with their condition. There is also a new drug, xyrum, which Tony decides to try.
