Biographical note

Pontecorvo was in Sri Lanka between 7 December 1981-18 January 1982. Pontecorvo was working for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund when he was sent by the World Health Oragisation to Sri Lanka. His objectives were to advise on the teaching of genetics in the medical curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine, Peradeniya, and at Ruhuna University College, Galle.
