    TO THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRISTOL. THE REPORT or THE COMMITTEE OE VISITORS OP THE LUNATIC ASYLUM OP THE CITY AND COUNTY OF BRISTOL, AT STAPLETON. Your Committee have much pleasure in reporting that the state of the Asylum during the past year has been most satisfactory. The number of Patients has again largely increased in the course of the year. The greatest number at one time has been 230, being a larger number by 30 than the Asylum was built to accommodate. The present number of Patients is 224, namely, 114 Males and 110 Females. Your Committee have felt for some time past the importance of an enlargement of the Building, and have considered the best and least expensive mode of affording extra accommodation.
