Description

On the verso of the second leaf is an unfinished water-colour drawing of Satan[?] holding a trident, and accompanied by serpents. Illustrated by pen-drawn diagrams, wheels of fortune, etc. The first 22 ff. contain varieties of a numerical 'Kabala' ascribed to the Venerable Bede [672-738]. On the first leaf are the names of 'Fra Gioan Battista', in a contemporary hand, and below this in a mid-10th cent. script: 'Consignato al Sigr. [Domenico] Guglielmoni [ -1870] compatto di sollicita restituzione': under this again 'Alfonso Gola Viarana', probably written about the same period.
