Inside front cover is the inscription 'Est Joannis Adelphi medici Schafhusensis [i.e. Schaffhausen] ... Anno. 1522. Martio', with marginal notes in the same hand. It has hitherto been supposed that Adelphus was at Schaffhausen only until 1520 and that he died in 1521.
