About this work
Description
Letters from Roland Penrose, brother of L S Penrose. All but one of the letters are undated. One letter and accompanying postcard were written from Paris, in which Roland advises Lionel that Marcel Duchamp will be travelling to London and that they should arrange to meet. A letter dated July 1940 discusses the war and Roland's work on camouflage. A final letter concerns the funeral and estate of Alec [presumably Alexander Penrose, brother of Lionel and Roland].
