"Yuxweluptun has described his work as “a form of political activism, a way to exercise my inherent right, my right to authority, my freedom”. This image comes from a series of tree studies, protesting logging in British Columbia. The cloud and leaves of the tree have been created with the ovoid and U shapes of the Northwest Coast formline artistic tradition"--From Being Human exhibition caption.
