Contents

Segment 1 A small incision is made in the conjunctiva (membrane that covers the white of the eye) and enlarged. A hook is inserted and a tendon is picked up. Muscle and tendon are dissected with scissors. A tucker (type of surgical instrument) is inserted beneath the tendon and opened, creating a 'tuck'. A suture needle is passed through the centre of the tuck. The needle is removed, leaving the thread in two strands. The two strands are each tied about a half of the tuck. Time start: 00:00:00:00 Time end: 00:04:45:01 Length: 00:04:45:01
Segment 2 The tuck is shown after it is tied. The conjunctiva is closed with sutures. The operation is shown again, this time without intertitles, as a review of the procedure. Time start: 00:04:45:01 Time end: 00:09:23:08 Length: 00:04:38:07
