Myotonic dystrophy pedigree and restriction fragment length polymorphism (rflp) autoradiograph showing triplet repeat expansion. The bands on the autoradiograph represent fragments of DNA which have been cut by enzymes at specific base sequences. Repeats of certain triplets of bases in the DNA are characteristic of this chromosome defect.
