It cannot on this account be expected that the diffufe reafoning, and the various argu- ments, however well founded and ftrongly fupported, on different fubjects, fhould have place in a work where fimple recitals of facts, and concifenefs, form its excellence; thofe things therefore can only be confidered which conftitute the bafis of a found and rational practice.
