It is not my pur- pofe to defcribe this procefs; it is fuffi- cient to fay, that it is generally underftood to be fo. Now the inference to be drawn from it, for the elucidation of our fubjeft, is, that the blood charged with thefe ma- terials muff, in th.e courfe of circula- tion, part with thofe which' are deftined for die recruit and fupport of the different component parts of the animal body; whilfl thole which are fuperfluous, or hav- ing done their office, become effete and ufelefs, and therefore are feparated from the mafs by different fecretory organs, and carried out of the body by the pro- per emundtories.
