Possibly after one of the five paintings on panel of the senses by Petrus Staverenus, one of them signed in full, seen by C. Hofstede de Groot in Berlin in October 1927 (RKD – Nederlands Instituut voor Kunstgeschiedenis, Fichescollectie Cornelis Hofstede de Groot, baknummer 247, fichenummer 1511873). They were in the possession of Geheimrat Prentzel, at 34 Hubertus Allee, Berlin-Grunewald: he was Alexander Prentzel (1875-1955), a businessman, art-collector, and director of the German potash cartel
