Saponin, Empl. KesinaB, partes lequales. Spread on chamois leather. Apjilied to cancerous, adenoid, and other tumours, and allowed to remain on till it drops off. No. 21. Iron Lint. This is made by saturating lint in the tincture of the per- chloride of iron and allowing it to dry. It is a convenient and very efficient way of n^jplying this tincture as a styptic. No. 22. Zinc Lint. Made by steeping lint in a saturated solution of chloride of zinc. A convenient way of applying this caustic. If ke})t in a bottle, the virtue of the zinc is retained for some time. No. 23. 9= Pulv. Carbonis 5 ij. Aqu£e Oj. This serves as a useful injection in cases of uterine cancer, especially when a disinfectant is required that shall have no chemical action on the parts. No. 24. ]Ji Ext. Hyoscyarai gr. iv. Ext. Conii gr. i. Morphiie Hydrochlor. gr. -|. Is an anodyne that yields relief c'quivalent to a larger dose of morphia, without the disagreeable results of the latter.
