Description

ventricular layers of a 4 day old chick embryo hindbrain. The green fluorescent spots are the nuclei of proliferating cells in mitotic S-phase as seen after incorporation of bromodeoxyuridine. In the background, dark staining shows where the C-Serrate-1 gene is active. This was detected by in situ hybridisation.
