![CERGOPITHECIDAE 3 Gercopithecus Linnaeus 7. Gercopithecus aethiops pygerythrus F. Cuvier [Vervet Monkey] X Macaca radiata E. Geoffroy [Bonnet Monkey] cî bonnet monkey x $ vervet monkey. A 3 hybrid had a flesh- coloured face, like the macaque, and dark brown hair. Gunning, J. W. B. 1910; Zuckerman, S. 1933 (quoting Gunning). X Macaca sinica Linnaeus [Toque Monkey] ¿ toque monkey x $ vervet monkey. A ¿ hybrid born at Pretoria Zoo in 1909 had a ñesh-coloured face, like the macaque, and brown hair with dark brown (almost black) tips. At i month old it was healthy and active. Gunning, J. W. B. 1910; Przibram, H. 1910 (quoting Gunning). 8. Gercopithecus aethiops sabaeus Linnaeus [Green Monkey] X Macaca mulatta Zimmermann [Rhesus Macaque] с? green monkey x ? rhesus macaque. A presumed hybrid was born in captivity. Zuckerman, S. 1931, 1933. 9. Gercopithecus mitis Wolf [Diademed Monkey] X Gercocebus torquatus torquatus Kerr [White-crowned Mangabey] cj diademed monkey x ? white-crowned mangabey. A hybrid died at or shortly after birth. Montagu, M. F. A. 1950. Cynopithecus I. Geoffroy 10. Cynopithecus niger Desmarest [Black Ape] x Macaca irus F. Cuvier [Grab-eating Macaque] (Í crab-eating macaque x ? black ape. A ? hybrid survived for 7 hours. Montagu, M. F. A. 1950. Macaca Lacepède 11. Macaca irus F. Cuvier [Crab-eating Macaque] X Gercocebus torquatus atys Audebert [Sooty Mangabey] S sooty mangabey x ? crab-eating macaque. A hybrid survived for over 3 months. cJ crab-eating macaque x ? sooty mangabey. The mother of the hybrid died near term. Montagu, M. F. A. 1950; Sclater, P.
