About this work

Description

The composition had been used in at least one earlier edition of 'The great law of consideration', printed by S. Holt, for A. Lownds, 1704, but the present print was re-engraved in 1720 by J. Clark, with variations, for the 1721 edition by Samuel Chapman. The metaphor of the magnifying glass is deescribed on pp. 17-19 (and equated with the microscope)
