About this work

Description

Appears to be Dutch, seventeenth century. Two barbers are attending to a man's hair, one with a large pair of scissors. An apprentice is on the left. Inside the room are exotic animals, skulls (over the door), an armamentarium of surgical instruments on the back wall, and containers of ointments and other medicinal substances
