    preternatural combustibility, beyond what the amount of fat exist¬ ing in it gave rise to; so that, while admitting the result to differ in different cases, owing to the above-mentioned cause, there is no reason to believe that any other preternaturally combustible state exists; and that in the occurrence of such cases in habitual drunkards so often referred to, the presence of intoxication acted only in in¬ creasing materially the liability to accident, and in depriving the victim of any power of assisting himself or of giving an alarm.
