    “A GUIDE AC) Young Married Women. . CHAPTER I. How to safeguard your Health. GeeP health, upon which so much depends, is greatly responsible for the happiness of the home; the young wife would do well to bear in mind that a simple meal well cooked is much better than elaborate dishes badly prepared. It is a common error amongst newly-married women to neglect themselves, particularly when their husbands are away from home the greater part of the day. ‘Tea, bread and butter, etc. are poor substitutes for the usual mid-dey meal. The consequences of continued -negiect in this direction are too serious to pass unnoticed. The husband on his part should insist that his wife partakes_ of a proper dinner, otherwise, depend upon it, trouble in the form of nervous disorders, pallor, exhaustion, indiges- tion, inability to cope with household duties, and numerous other ailments will result in this familiar and unwise practice. The young wife should remember that if she is to face the future, with all its possibilities and uncertainties with confidence, it is her duty to safeguard her health, and | to religiously avoid anything which may tend to have an undermining effect,
