    Witnessed, and how the Witnesses were collected, I am unable to guess, unless it were at The Knyghten Court of The Bygods, the over Lords, which according to Blomefield, was held at Forncet every three weeks. The infinite division of Manorial Rights, and extreme smallness of many of these Mesne Manors, are very striking to any one acquainted with The District. The Twelfth Deed, of the sale of the Advowson of Intwood, in the year 1279, is a curious indication of Advowsons not being then saleable, otherwise than as being at- tached to specific parcels of Land; the price of the Rood of Land carrying the Advowson, appears for those times to have been great.
