Charles Elliot's catalogue of books for 1778, Containing several libraries and parcels of books lately purchased, together with the stock of the seller; the whole forming about fifteen thousand volumes, in various languages, arts and sciences, particularly, a very full assortment of the best modern authors, in various bindings; which wll begin to be sold (Whitsunday 1778,) at the shop of C. Elliot, Parliament-Square. The books in general are the best editions, and in the freshest and most fashionable bindings, unless otherwise expressed in the catalogue; and being marked much lower than the usual stated prices, they can only be sold for ready money: If put to accompt, they must be charged at the state prices.-The books may be seen every day at the above shop of C. Elliot, who will carefully execute commissions for gentlemen in the country; and lay aside what books they order immediately on receiving their letters. The uncommon expence of this very extensive catalogue, makes a charge necessary.-None will be delivered to servants, or carriers from the country, without a written order, or sixpence sterling.-The money shall be given back to such as return the catalogue after perusal, or allowed out of the first purchase of five shillings from the sale.
