Papers related to Charles Gordon's research on the history of the British Army Medical Service and Sir John Pringle. The collection includes research notes, annotations, correspondence, typscripts, drafts and photocopied material.

1980s-1990s

Uncatalogued: 41 archive boxes

The collection came to the Wellcome Collection roughly around the 1980s, until his subsequent death and therefore the collection remained at Wellcome.

As part of his PhD, Charles Gordon carried out research relating to the history of the British Army Medical Service in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, paying particular attention to the period of Sir John Pringle.
