According to the catalogue of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, François Sturel was a pseudonym used by François Mauriac (1885-1970) in twelve articles published in the Journal de Clichy, 14 March-11 July 1914. It does not say that he used it on other occasions, or that anybody else went by that name
