S., Frère de la Rose

L'Oeuvre des Philosophes. On p. 11, under the heading of 'De l'opération de la Pierre dans l'oeuf Philosophique', the author states: 'Le 2e Mars 1651 Je S. frère de la Rose en allamagne, je commencé l'Elixir des Philosophes'. On the unnumbered leaves, and inside both covers are notes on alchemy and alchemical books, in French and written in pencil: among these on the recto of the last leaf, is the date 19/12/1833.
