Vale delin. ; Grignion & Canot sculp Lettering continues with verse: Myriads of proselites sustain thy cause / Throng to thy altars and obey thy laws; / From hence, fair Venus, spring those sweet supplys / To fill the mansions which to thee arise. / These mansions rais'd by patrons kind & great, / Where babes deserted find a safe retreat. / Tho Frenchmen sneer; their boasted first design, / Brittish benevolence shall far outshine. ; To his Grace John Duke of Bedford, this plate is humbly inscrib'd by his Graces most dutiful and obedient servant Margrett Granville.
