    in 6 others with Epilepsy. There was a double combination of General Paralysis and Epilepsy in 1 case of Mania. Melancholia was found in union with General Paralysis in 1 case. Imbecility was combined with that affection in 8 cases, and with Epilepsy in 1 ; in 1 other case of Imbecility there was a combination of both Paralysis and Epilepsy. The 2 cases of Dementia were complicated with General Paralysis. A tendency to suicide was united with 1 case of Mania, and with Melancholia in 7 cases; 1 of the suicidal cases of Melancholia was affected with General Paralysis. One of the cases of Mania occurred in a man 28 years of age, who had only been ill a fortnight, but it was his third attack. The second attack came on when he was 14 years of age, and the first at the age of 7 years. Insanity at so early an age, and not attributable to congenital defect, or to Epilepsy, or to any form of Paralysis, though not unpre¬ cedented, is yet so rare as to justify its being noticed here. The Patient was pale, feeble, and emaciated when admitted, also very incoherent and violent; he is now well nourished, excitement has subsided, and his mind is much improved, but it is not expected that he can recover permanently, as it has been ascertained that there is a strong hereditary predisposition to the disease in his family. His mother, several aunts and collateral relatives, were insane, and died in that state ; one of his sisters is now an inmate of Colney Hatch Asylum, another has been more than once the sub¬ ject of mental aberration.
