<p>1. The 25th rule states that after divorce, if the woman does not remarry and encounters difficulties in life, the ex-husband should assist. This rule has literally solved Xiu Yun's problems. 2. In this modern society, men's lack of loyalty towards women is unacceptable. In this pictorial example a man's request for divorce was turned down on grounds of being inappropriate. 3. China's strength has been diminished, but in the wake of this there still remains the serious issue of marriage. 4. Thanks to Chairman Mao's new policies, women can no longer be chained to marry a sickly person who is due to die shortly after marriage which leaves her in perpetual service to her mother-in-law. She realizes the reward of hard work, developing herself as a model individual and rising to become chief of the village. 5. During this revolution period, women have experienced countless suffering. Though they tried to work, they were shamed and suppressed. 6. The seventh rule of marriage is: as life companions, men and women share equal standing in the family. The ninth rule of marriage is that both parties have equal freedom of choice to participate in society and to engage with their careers</p>
